Perfect Road game

The Habs played a perfect road game tonite guys...and Yes Julien IS qualified to coach in the NHL. It was a gutsy move to put Theo right back in tonite (80% on the board here said it was a mistake) but his expereience as a coach and his knowledge of his players told him  to go back with Theo. That my friends, is pure experience. The EASY thing to do would have been to put Danis in. I felt that we played a saf egame for 2 periods..a good road game...Theo made the big saves when he needed to (which is what you need to play a safe road game) and this allowed Les Boys to open it up a bit in the 3rd. And we did it without Bonk..amazing!

I felt at times that the Koivu line dominated tonite...and that CJ  still managed to get his matchups even though he did not have the luxury of last change.

Agreed!

Good hustle all around...and Steve Begin TOTALLY replaced Bonk...and carried this team tonight!  Did you hear JD mentioning his chest infection too???

It is a crime that this guy doesn't have a letter on his jersey!!!

He blocks shots, hits, sticks up for his mates, back checks...THE WORKS!

FIRST STAR tonight by a mile!!!

And-O- that is exactly what totally excites me about this year's team! Our depth. Good teams are built on players whop step up when someone goes down. Tonite it was Bonk out and Begin stepped up (although he is damn lucky he scored on that 2 on 1. If you look at the replay his winger was WIDE open for a pass..I was hollering "pass the puck" all the way from the blueline in lol..) but the bottom line is he scored and that was the TSN turning point.

Earlier it was Perez stepping up when Zed went down. Believe it or not, we totally dominated most aspects of that game. Yes Theo had to make key saves at key times (which is what we need him for), but for the most part we dominated but ran into a hot goalie. Same as Saturday.

As far as who is getting more ice time than who right now, we need to relax. The coaching staff needs to be allowed to take their time to see who fits where LONG TERM, not on a game by game basis. Our first line will not be our best line every night. In fact there is not a team in teh league that can say that. But when we have our 4th line chipping in then we have the recipe for success.
