Did it ever occur to anyone that maybe the aformentioned players are just plain tired from killing off penalty after penalty? In the "New NHL" coaches are forced to use guys in positions and situations that they would normally not. CJ had a pretty good rash of penalties to kill off last night. Begin is hurting. Sundstrom is out. Options are getting limited out there.
Now, for those of you who will say "well then why are guys like Kovalev not tired from being on the PP so much?". Watch the players on a Power Play, then watch the players on a Penalty Kill. You tell ME who is working harder? It is no contest. The Penalty Kill guys like Begin get worn out from all of the chasing and skating. Power play is much more stationary.
I saw Alfredson killing penalties for Ottawa last night? Does that Make Bryan Murray incompetant to coach at the NHL level?
