I actually was thinking Ribero was having a better game( in the offensive zone) than Saku tonight. And then he scored the game winner. Still find him a bit flaky but if he brings his level of play up, we may have ourselves a second line( I think Zed will help as well).
Begin was outstanding again tonight, as was Markov. I am afraid Komi will suffer in this new league---he is a bit slow.
Anyone else think we could use a QB on the power play? They used Streit alot tonight but....
Ribs actually has scary-good vision on the ice. It's just that he's in a city where slacking is not only frowned upon, but slackers are burnt at the stake.
Ribs is actually a really talented player. He's a born play-maker. I don't think he slacks as much as he's just overwhelmed in size by his oponents. It's a problem and he needs to put on some muscle. Look at the ease with which Kovy battles on the boards and look at Ribs. Granted, Kovy is much taller, but it wouldn't hurt Ribs to pack on an extra 15.
I have faith in him. I see his talent and I'm not going to jump on the Anti-Ribs bandwagon just yet.
Ribs played much better...although my heart was in my throat all night when he was in a defensive role (and kudos to Dags for at least contributing something tangible).
Saku just plain wore down in the 3rd...no insult here...just a fact!
Bonk/Begin/Bulis were really solid.
Chris Higgins deserves more ice in my opinion...and Mark Streit was useless (honestly, CJ should consider declining PP's if that continues).
Anyone else think we could use a QB on the power play? They used Streit alot tonight but....
Good point. I am beginning to think that having 4 forwards on the pp might be the better option. Let Kovalev or Plekanec or even give Ribero a chance to orchestrate things from the blue line and keep Sourray or Markov as the lone defenseman to let a blast go from the point.

You gotta think with a couple injuries and this early in the season, especially being well over .500, CJ is forced to try different combos. These guys (Streit, for example) have to show what they can do. We might see some tweeks for the game in OTT, when I think Zed is expected back. I figure he'll share time on the first and second line with Perez.
I agree Ribero turned it up a notch last night. Good to see that, he is a talented hockey player. Even Ryder seemed to be more in the game than he has lately.
When Zed comes back where will he be on the second line. Be hard to take the Kid off the first line right now.
