The dish network has pulled OLN  a dispute has erupted between OLN owners and the NHL and Dish Network. So no more games on OLN too bad

It had something to do with OLN wanting dish to pay more money to them in order to get the rights to put NHL games on there. Dish Network didn't want to, so that's the end of OLN on there. It's too bad for people like me with Dish Network, like the habs and bruins game that wasnt on center ice was on oln and I couldnt watch it, and on October 31 the Rangers v Habs game is on OLN but not Center Ice so I cant watch that either. Pretty ridiculous.

Can someone explain to me why I can't watch hockey games on SPORTSNET West or Pacific when the Canucks/Flames/Oilers on.  It's blacked-out.  I'd understand if the Canadiens are playing, but they're not (last night).

Mario   I watched sportswest last night Oilers/Flames good game. This year I have had more habs games not televised than ever before and its only ten games in. I am not sure whats going on but I was not a happy camper when the Ottawa game was not on south of the border.

This is precicely the sort of thing that's going to eventually relegate hockey beneath "extreme poker" and "beach lacrosse" in the States

The fact that they let ESPN slip away just goes to show you how ham-fisted they have been with the media strategy

Sports like Rugby have exploded, reaching millions around the world through coordinated and astute marketing

The fact that people are willing to watch cars take left turns around an oval for 3 hours means that ANYTHING can become popular.

No OLN on dish knocks out a sizable portion of viewers, and could potentially lose many new converts.

If this clumsy trend continues, watch for more money to leak away and a whole new set of problems revolving around salaries
