Radical Thought...

Ok..the time is quickly approaching that Zednick returns..the burning question is..what to do with Perez when that happens? My thoughts are that you keep him on the number one line, no matter what. He and Koivu seem to work very well together. Alot of speed. So...what to do with Zed? Keep him on the first line or put him back on left wing with Ribs and Ryder? My idea..put Kovalev on the left side with Ribs and Ryder. Like it or not, we are stuck with Ribiero at least for now, as our number 2 center. Could Kovalev be the wake up call Ribs needs? Maybe The respect and attention that opposing teams give Kovalev will help the smaller Ribiero and Ryder get some space? I know..many of you will say that for 4.5 million Kovy needs to be on the first line. But how can we justify moving Perez back to the 3rd or 4th line? This may work!

I'd like to see Z back on the top unit to get him going. Perez's speed and hustle would compliment Rib's line. As long as we don't see Dagenais again.

you can't put kovalev with ryder and ribiero, it just doesn't make sense.  leave the first line as it is because they are the ones that deserve to be left intact.  put zed with the second line for now, see how that works out and if not then tinker with the lines.  right now all we really have going for us on offence is that first line and i don't want to se the chemistry messed up.

ryder and ribiero should benefit form having a speedy zednik on their line and it will give them more space without having to move kovalev.  put plekanec back on the 4th line, which really isn't too bad either.

I would definitely leave Perezhogin on the first line. The best way to develop a rookie is to let him play with great players. Putting Zednik on the second line, which needs a kick in the backside right now, would give us 2 solid lines that could score.

PEREZ-KOIVU-KOVALEV

ZEDNIK-RIBERO-RYDER

Man, that's scary as hell...

Go Habs!

I like Zednic-Higgins-Ryder. Why is it that we "have to" have Ribero on the second line? I realize he is useless on any of the other lines but....oh well. He and Dags can go to "Mikes" restaurant for a nice dinner and discuss a career in Columbus or something.

As we are doing fine with Perezhogin on the first line, do you think maybe we could package Zednik and Rebeiro for something? It might solve some of our second line problems.

I think we promote Plekenac

Ryder - Koivu - Perez

Zednik - Plekanec - Kovalev

Sunstrom - Bonk - Bulis

Higgins - Ribiero - Begin

Wow,Ribs on the 4th line. Bergy and the boys on 110% would have a hissy fit.

But we'd have 4 lines that could score and, to some degree, rock some socks.

 This is my thinking

 Kov-Saks-Perez

 Plekanic-Higgins-Zed

 Bulis-Bonk-Sunny

 Ribs-Begin-Ryder

Let everyone play their natural position except Ribs who shoots left and of course Perez and Kovy are both rt. wingers but leave that line alone because they have what our third line has, chemistry!

Also this way Kovy can continue to help Perez and they will thrive off each other.

Ribs isn't strong on the draw so let Begin keep his position because he earns it every game and let Ribs play left side.

I don't think Ryder has been that good thus far but he is improving. I would make him work his way back to the second line and displace Zed. Who ever is working or playing better gets to play on the secong line. Until they are both strong and earn more ice then change the second and fourth lines around again.

With good speed and balance on each line, I would then roll all four lines over as much as possible. There will also be hungrier players who will work hard to make a difference. Ribs, Zed and Ryder will work hard to move up the pecking order or stay where they are. All the rookies will provide big time energy to stay where they are.

All in all, this balance should make for players with something to prove and Habs win games.

Oh yah! as for Danis,  play this kid more, to keep Theo honest and working hard also.

Did I mention also that these lines could result in the top five teams for speed!
