Remember that infamous scene with Savvay and Gillette trying to put a good enough package together for Kovalchuk???  Remember Waddell mentioning that Montreal's offer was very, very attractive!!!


I would pay to know what exactly was offered!


...Kovalchuk belongs in a Hab sweater - in the great tradition of pure natural lamp-lighters.


(...it also pains And-o deeply to see Sidney Crosby playing in Pittsburgh...but I digress)

That would be quite the killer line - might have helped hang a few more from the rafters.


Seriously, though, it's funny what kind of trades don't happen.  Atlanta must feel like the escaped the gallows and Montreal can do nothing but run from the ghost of what my have been.
