Bad----Dandenault, im sorry but this guy in my opinion hasnt filled Brisebois absence...yet. I havent given up on him but i was one of those fans who liked Brisebois and thought he was solid. By the way, im obviously not the only person who thought so. If a team like Colorado picks him up to fill Foote's departure i think that says it all right there. Dandenault will never put up brisebois offensive numbers but hopefully he can do his job and cover the defense properly and stop taking penalties. Our best defensemen in the first 3 games have been in order 1-Markov 2- boullion 3- souray 4- Komisarek 5- Rivet 6- Dandenault. Secondly i want to point out the lack of scoring from our veterans. Good- The rookies have accounted for a good amount of our points so far this season. Perezhogin 2 goals in 2 games Higgins 1 goal 1 assist in 3 games Plekanec 1 assist in 3 games Striet 1 assist in 1 game. Our top three scorers are still who are being paid the money so that is good news also. Kovalev-4 assists Koivu 3 assists Ryder- 3 goals. I like the fact that our offense has been well rounded we've had production from all 4 of our lines. Heck Begin even scored. Our 3rd line is averaging 2 points a game. And our 1st and seconds lines have been dangerous everynight. Hopefully our defense will be a bit stronger ( alot actually ) against the Sens on Tuesday at our home opener. It would be awesome to start the year 4-0-0!!!

I too have noticed Dandenault hasn't been as good as Brisebois SO FAR. But that will change, I'm sure. As for him not putting up the same offensive numbers, is it really a big deal if a defenceman scores or not? I think Brisebois had only 4 goals last season. He had a ton of assists, yeah, but hey, who's to say Dandenault won't do the same. Only time will tell, but I have faith in Gainey. After all, he's the one who chose to sign Dandenault over Brisebois.
I too always loved Brisebois, he was a solid player with a good shot. Jedah he would have had more goals if he played the point on the powerplay instead of Souray two years ago, thats what he did in the past. With Souray coming out you had to expect Brisebois goal totals to go down because he's not played in the same way anymore. Dandy hasn't been great and i hope he can pick it up, its too early to give up on him, look at souray the first two games.
I always viewed brisbois as a solid d-man. Never lived up to what was expected of him but i always liked him. However, I have to disagree. Dandenault has been solid out there. Smooth transition game with few mistakes. I think he replaces an aging and slowing Brisbois in a more than adequate fashion. Sorry Johab et al. No disrespect though, I side with most of your opinions.
