Well our Habs are 3-0, let's not get too hyped up yet as things could have gone the other way. There are alot of things to improve on from goaltending to defence and to some of the forwards. Overall our forwards have been our biggest asset, this is a nice surprise since it's usually our goaltending keeping us in the game.
Souray played his best game so far against TO, let's hope it's a sign of things to come. Everyone will have to be clicking to take any points away from Ottawa on Tuesday night. No weak goals (Theo), clear the front of the net (D), no bad giveaways and poor play in our zone (Forwards) and things might get interesting against the Sens.
This game will show where the Habs really are in the pecking order. Are we a contender? In my honest opinion, I don't think we can contend with the likes of the Sens in the long run, they are really strong. Can we keep up with them for a game, DEFINETLY.
A lot of things have to go right this year to be an Elite team, so far so good. Let's hope the boys keep it up, no one said they will go 82-0 but let's hope they put on a good show.
I agree with you, but I must tell you I do not feel that encouraged that they can hang with the big guys Ottawa. There is nothing that I would like to see more than the Habs come out Tuesday after a stirring rendition of Oh Canada (like the old days with R.Doucette for the older posters) and come out flying and leave the first periode with a 3 zip lead. They will need strong defense for the high flying Senators. **You know there were so many games I remember from last year where the Habs played so long in a game and tried so hard to score, and after they score, just to have a soft goal let up by Theo. They are hard workers and you can see it this year. I am not sure if the Laffs, Bruins or Rangers are as good as Ottawa. I would love to see a win Tuesday because that will help the confidence of this team more thasn any of the first three wins has given them . The other damn unknown is the penalties. I have seen more 5-on-3s this year than ever before. Am I wrong??
Agreed...this upcoming game versus Ottawa will serve as a true benchmark!
Beware though...as anyone who watches sports will attest...the first game following a good roadtrip is murder...it is just human nature to become "ho-hum".
Theo will need to be 10X better...and I sure hope that Zed is back...and Perezhogin plays with either Bonk or Ribs.
Dagenais and Ivanans should order pizza in the pressbox...cuz they are gonna see it allot against good skating teams!
