I know alot of you are tired about all the hype about this kid and to be honest, I think it is a bit much too. But seeing this guy play, there is no question in my mind that he is the real deal. Not only for scoring (he has only just begun), but his passing is unreal! When you see his assists on thv they are not cheap points. He sees the open man as well as anyone i have seen in alot of years and he puts passes right on the tape. Another thing that impresses me is his strength. His leg strength is unreal. Having seen him in a pair of shorts last year on the golf course I can tell you that he has massive legs. Oveschkin )sp) will give him a run for his money for Rookie honours this year. But keep this in mind. Last year Oveshckin was playing in the Russian elite league with grown men. Pros. Syd was playing Major Junior. In my mind thi sputs the Russian one year ahead development wise.

Also bear in mind that Ovechkin is 20, Sid just turned 18. Two years doesn't make much difference is it's 28 and 30, but at 18 and 20 it does.
Crosby spent a weekend at my best friend's house in West Pubnico, NS (near Yarmouth) when he was 12 or 13 (he was a friend and teammate of my friend's son). Back then it was a non-story, just kids playing together. Imagine if he came down for a weekend now!

Watched the entire Bruins/Pens game on Boston TV last night. The Pens may have lost (suspect they will lose a lot of high socring games this year), but this kid Crosby is "the real thing". There's no float in his game at all. No lazy shifts. Tell ya, if the future ever brings this kid "home" to Montreal they'll be knitting some new flags for the rafters.
