I was just looking at Patrick Roy's career stats (prompted by an earlier post about him having "average years").  The worst year of his entire NHL career - GAA of 3.20 - was in 1993, the year they won the Cup!

I assume that was before the Staypuff goalie gear.  Roy was a keeper but he had no heart (for the Habs cause he was a Nordiques fan, right?)

i never saw roy play in montreal. Only pictures and replayed games. Earliest goalie i remember is Andy Moog. I really liked that guy.

It's funny to think that the worse tender we had in the last 20 years was Thibeault.  Wow!  Shows how bad we were in need in other areas, eh?

The first Habs playoff series I was able to see was the Habs and Pens of that year, (when you grow up in a household of leaf fans, it's hard to catch the habs) I remember Andy Moog getting injured and Thibault having to fill in. I was young at that time though.

My first memories are 85-86.  Then my next memories are 88-89.  And then 92-93 and from there on.  Heh heh.  I have a good feeling about this year.  So far, it seems it can only get better and getting better than 2 wins in 2 games is 2 blowouts in the next 2 - especially against the Laffs and Sins.


 


And I'm honoured that you quoted me, Z.  I took me 30 messages to get noticed lol.  Kidding.  Seriously, I'm not worthy!
