FORMER ‘DOGS DENT THE TWINE FOR HABS

Five of Seven goals in Canadiens victory scored by ex-Bulldogs

Three former Hamilton Bulldogs accounted for all of Montreal’s goals last night, as the Canadiens defeated the New York Rangers 4-3 at Madison Square Garden.

Michael Ryder led the way offensively for the Canadiens, scoring two goals, including his second straight game-winner.  Chris Higgins and Alexander Perezhogin, each with their first career NHL goals, added markers for Montreal.  Interestingly, Perezhogin and Higgins also scored their first career professional goals on the same night - October 31, 2003, when they helped the Hamilton Bulldogs defeat the Rochester Americans by a score of 4-3.

Two other former Bulldogs also found the scoresheet.  Canadiens forward Tomas Plekanec picked up his first NHL point, collecting an assist on Higgins’ goal, while Marcel Hossa potted his second goal of the season for the Rangers.

The Hamilton Bulldogs will open their 10th Anniversary season on Friday, October 14th when the Grand Rapids Griffins visit Copps Coliseum.  Game time is 7:30 p.m.  Tickets are available at the Copps Coliseum Box Office, any TicketMaster outlet, online at ticketmaster.ca or by calling the Bulldogs office at (905) 529-8500.
