''Right now he's hot. Two big, big goals for us. Somebody has to do it, but he's been doing it.''

- Canadiens captain Saku Koivu, after Michael Ryder scored the winner for the second straight game on Thursday

Lord knows that Saku didn't do it!!!

Where was he for most of last night???  Anyone?

He has no more excuses...good wingers...not just one offensive line to complain about...healthy...rested.

(I wouldn't hesitate to shift him back in the rotation...and give Pleks a go with the elite wingers!)

That's right.  Just 2 games.  If it was 2 games in the middle of the season we'd have little to say.  I think we just have to let the new rules set in and go.  Let's talk about how good Ryder's been.  No sophmore jinx so far.  He's the best thing we got.

...and with Sundin gonzo...Saku will need a new excuse Saturday!

Honestly...why not just place him back down the order...his "leadership" and "character" should still shine through.

Let's see what Pleks...or Bonk...or even Higgins could do with top-notch wingers!  What's the harm???  How many games does a #1 centre get a free-pass???

Do you know what kind of presence Saku has in the dressing room or on the bench? Do you know if he is helping the youngsters flourish? What he tells them at times during the game? Didn't think so. He is the captain for a reason.

Is he such an inspiration and leader that he forgets to contribute himself!!!

Let him do ALL of this from the 3rd line.

And-o if you were to build a team it would be "Montreal Canadians, the musical"... I think. Lots of flash and dance but no heart. How about the "lord of the dance" as our new captain?
