I know there are some who feel we are a little weak on defense. I see the Bruins as of yet have not signed Boynton. I really do not know much about the bruins ut I do believe he is a strong defenseman ??? I was wondering what he is asking for and if he is worth trying for. I am not sure if the Bruins would want to trade him to a team that they will be playing 8 times this year. For last nights game, I made a post last week that Hossa would be breaking out. Why is it that this always seems to happen whare is comes back to haunt us (leclair, Dejardins, etc)
It's a waste to look at trades only from the "now he's with x team, look how great he's doing" perspective. You can give all the players you want to the Flyers or Rangers, but it still hasn't got them a whole lot of hardware to be showing off.
Players have to be part of a system that works for them, especially younger guys. Hossa might never have been anything in Montreal. The media makes it hell, the boo-birds feed on misery, and so on. Shark-infested waters aren't neccesarily the best place to learn how to swim.
So off he goes, and best of luck. I'd rather concentrate on what's going to happen with our team.
Oh, and no matter where he goes, he'll at most be Valeri to his brother's Pavel. (seems there's a Rangers-Canadiens connection there somewhere)
Boston trade to Montreal ,highly onlikely ,but a 3 way, like they did to get Hacket HMMM.
I think our D is good .I think that after two games C.J. will get them to start to see the ice better to look over their shoulders more for the rushing defensemen.
these new rules ,for a defencemen make it hard to mug a guy.It takes alot more effort on the defences part too keep in position.
A foreward can go right in the crease wait there ,drives me squirrelly,to add to that when a forward has speed and he cuts for the net ,no tripping(mcchab),no groping(sundin)you have to stand in his way and make him sit down, solid bodycheck.I have not seen very many forwards try but when they do and succeed the D will need to adjust for the onslot
Sorry I needed to get that out,did I make any sence there
One of the main reasons Boyton hasn't signed with the Bruins is that he was offered a qualifying offer in the summer and he turned it down (1.9 I think) and since then the Bruins have been offering him less money and have not reached the original 1.9 and with the other contracts the Bruins have signed Thorton/Leach etc it might not get there again....
