sportsnet predictions about habs
Permalink Closed

Hello everyone, I haven't posted for a long time but still enjoy reading the comments by everyone. Some may remember me when I first joined the forum when I was working in China. Now I am back home in a hockey friendly country. Finally I'll be able to watch a few Habs games.

I was surprised by the predictions that the sportsnet guys made about the Habs. They all said that the Habs have an outside chance of making the playoffs. Are the Habs really that under talented?

Two other predictions that surprised me: the Flames are the favourites to win the cup. And  if not Calgary from the west in the finals, the Canucks will be the western conference champions. Are Vancouver and Calgary really this strong this year? I don't really see any changes in Vancouver except for the addition of Anson Carter.

Does anyone else agree with this?

I do not really count on season predictions. For the Habs, I have a good feeling, as the kind of game in the NHL will change, and I think this will suit well to our team. Talking of the west, Canucks & Sharks had almost no changes, this could be positive, as many teams lost important players. I think any team has a chance of becoming a cup contender (probably with the exception of the Caps). Let's wait and see, and keep our fingers crossed for a good start into this season.

Welcome back to the Board, hff.

I don't know about the teams out west, although from all accounts they will be strong.  But I think they were too harsh on the Habs.  They had over 90 points two years ago and what they added (Bonk, Kovalev) is much better than what they lost (Juneau, Brisebois, etc.).

Don't put much stock in what those" Toronto" sports networks say.Where they are located speaks volumes.
