No doubt. Beauchemin was one that got away. Weird that we didn't hear much about that when it happened. How did it happen? I don't even remember.
As for Bulis, ward, Ribs, Zed, etc...I wish them well. I actually liked all of those players. As I said last year, this is my favourite Habs team in years, and that included Ribeiro, despite his many irritating habits. I still think Ribeiro might have cut it as a fourth line pest and power play specialist, but I don't think he would have accepted that role.

He seems to be accepting it in Dallas as he's averaging about 10 minutes a game, mostly PP time.
Well I was doing some web surfing checking out some Ex-Habs stats. Most of them are not doing very well.
Not missing anything : Zed, Hossa, Ward, Hainsey and Theo
Decent point totals and +/- : Bulis, Ribs
One that got away : Beauchemin, he's playing 25 minutes a game on a team that has Neidemeyer and Pronger.
Anyone I forgot that deserves mentioning or disagreements with the above?
Hey John, I watched Caps against Flames tonight and I can tell you Zed is turning things around. 2 goals tonight in a 4-2 win. He was very strong and won every battle deep along the boards. Yes...every battle. At one point he had one guy hanging on to him behind the net and still rapped it around to score.
I'm not saying I miss him but that Caps got a good player for a 3rd rounder.

This just shows how little life i actually have. Beauchemin was in the AHL with the Bulldogs for a while, then he became a free agent what year i dont remember, then the BlueJackets picked him up and he went straight to Syracuse, he played there for a while and was a throw in, in the Sergei Federov trade with Anaheim. Nice steal for the Ducks. Beauchemin's path to the NHL makes me wonder what other guys are potential gems. Corey Locke's Junior career reminds me so much of Daniel Briere's. I just think this guy needs a break.

I agree Nilan. Unfortunately, I think Locke's break will come from another team, not the Habs. It's hard for a team to give a 5' 9" guy a shot in the NHL. He is obviously a leader on that team. I saw Locke get creamed against the boards on a clean hit, and four Bulldogs went after the opposing player like fat kids on a Smartie.

Beauchemin was the one that got away foresure. It was purely a numbers game, young guys like Robidas, Bouillioin, Hainsey and veterans like Taverese and Dykhuis were all ahead of Beauchemin....it certainly hurts to see him do so well....remember his fight versus Iginla in the playoffs last year? Selanne and Brian Burke said that fight on the road in Calgary was the turning point in the series....
