An idea....

Just wondering what peoples thoughts on this are..

Considering Bonk has been one of our better players on most nights and his obvious chemistry with Johnson...does anyone think this is a good idea for new lines...

Higgins-Koivu-Ryder

Kovalev-Bonk-Johnson

Samsonov-Plekanec-Latendresse

Murray-Begin-Perezhogin

Not a bad idea...but it likely won't happen unless the 'goal well' really runs dry and things get ugly!

I don't understand why people put Lats ahead of Perez on our depth chart.  Perez gets no respect.  He has been one of our hardest working forwards since the beginning of the season.  I think I will start calling him" Rodney" Perezhogin (as in Dangerfield gets no respect ).

And Perez just shuts up and plays hard for the team. His approach is 'put me anywhere coach and I will play hard". I love it.

As opposed to lats who claims he will re-enter the draft and sammy mouthing off to the media.

I also love Plek for putting up with the Russian prince and the Russian mouth piece. these two guys can moan all they want, but at the end of the day the numbers are not there and they should squint real hard when looking in the mirror I figure.

Actually when I was putting up the post I was gonna mention that Perezhogin and Latendresse could be interchangeable on those lines...I just like what started in Boston on Thursday with that "4th line".

I was also the one that posted a topic on how Perezhogin is so good on the puck and almost never loses puck battles.

I like those lines quite a bit, but I don't think Lats and Perezhogin are interchangeable. You have to ask yourself who will be carrying the puck on each line, and who will be finishing plays and standing in front of the net. Having a line without a puck carrier is bad, and having a line without a finisher/guy in front of the net is also bad. Having lines where you have too many guys who like to dangle will make each less effective.

That being said, Lats fits better with Pleks and Samsonov not because he is a better player than Perezhogin, but because Samsonov and Pleks both like to carry the puck, and Lats is the guy in front of the net. Perezhogin also likes to carry the puck and he would be far more effective on the fourth line where he can do so.

If we are truly looking to roll 4 lines, this suggestion is a good one. I just wonder, can Kovalev or Johnson play left wing?

I have heard this draft re-entry threat by Lats from Red Dog and Muller93, and although I don't doubt you guys (as you've always been upstanding) where does this tidbit come from and why hasn't it been all over the news? Why is no one challenging him or Gainey about this? Seems to me that Gainey would not be intimidated by a PP like that.

I'd thought similarily about Johnson moving up for some line 2 action. He's really caught on and is working the system very well. I'm sure he'll get some time up the chain.

I'm curious too. What's the source there?

I do not think Lats can go back into the draft now since he has signed a NHL contract .... if Lats went back to junior without a contract then he could have gone
back into the the draft if he wished.

That costs extra in some parts.

Why not....at this point Bonk is the only centerman who hasn't had the experience to play with Kovalev. Koivu, Pleks, Ribeiro, and now the Bonk experience. Sad but true.
