Sure reinforce the penalties in order to decrease the clutching ang grapping...but quite honestly, this league has become a joke. You can't even so much as touch a player anymore...

Was I really watching a Bruins-Habs game tonight? Rivalries are gone forever. I'm not saying there should be more fights but how can one player intimidate another when they're afraid of just touching the other guy....

Players are taking dives...A shirt is grabbed and suddenly a 185 pound Boston player goes down like a fly. 2 minutes     ....BUT a player sticks his leg out and takes Kovalev out of the play. No penalty. One of many examples of what this league has become.

In retrospect, it's slowly becoming like soccer (eventhough it is my fav sport)... with the dives, the faking...etc. Think about it.

I rarely stop myself from saying exactly what's on my mind so I'll come out and say it like a real Joe cool....What a Sissy league it has become!

The league thought that more scoring would create a growing interest in the game. I disagree. What makes people jump off their seats is a combination of scoring, hitting, and fighting!

I agree.. now that the habs finally have a little bit of size... they can't use it.

Anyone see that first penalty to Komi? He was manhandling that bruin the way a good D is supposed to and he gets called for it.

Call the hooking, call the grabbing, call the tripping and the diving but don't make them be afraid to lay a good hit every now and then...

The kovalev outburst was 100% with merit ......There isonly so much abuse and attempt to injure ( knee to knee or slew foot )  that a man can take...those two refs should put on some pads and let the players hit them

I guess the league office will be stepping in then to address this 'attempt to injure'!

If not...that will speak volumes!  Is that fair???

I'm withholding judgement on the Kovalev case for now. My first reaction was not pro-Kovy, but that's because he's been disappointing in so many ways this year. However, if replays show that there were in fact serious attempts to injure that were missed by the refs...fine. Some freaking out may have been called for.

As for being fiery....it'd be nice if we'd see that kind of fire defending teammates or working for the team, instead of it only appearing in occasional cases of self-defense.
