I obviously haven't seen the game BUT on this board folks are saying he was invisible last night and he only got 10:10 of ice-time.Is this becoming a real problem or is it to early to worry? He is on pretty high salary for all he has produced so far.
I've stated right after the signing that it was a bad one. Does not fit into what we really needed. He's a streaky flashy Keep-away type player that doesn't have a good concept of the game itself. Poor defensively also. He'll get his points this season...most of the individual type we seen the other night. That's why he makes the highlite reels from time to time.
Gainey felt forced to add a free agent after telling media he would and that's the result.
Still early, got to give him time. Plus it's a new team and a new environment. When Kovalev arrived here, he took the rest of the year from the trading deadline plus two playoff games to get going. That was about 15 games or so, maybe a few more.
Sammy is a skill player like Kovalev, relies more on finess than power than Kovy tho, so none of his teamates know what he will do, where he will be, or how he reacts in any situation. Give him another 10 games before forming an opinion. He just may click with someone else for linemates also.
In a perfect world, there would be a grinder/powerforward, a puck carrier/passer and a shooter.
