Nedved - makes too much $. A better skater and shooter than Ribiero. No more physical, their defensive awareness is pretty much the same, and Nedved's heart is no bigger than Ribs. At least Ribs could piss off the Bruins. He might be a better fit than Ribs on the second line with Kovalev and Samsonov, but if all three decide to dog it one game, you will hear plenty of booing from the stands (and swearing in the living room). I think Pleks is currently the best fit at the present time between the two Russians, until they get split up. At least with Pleks, there's one worker on the line.
Besides, the season is still young, they might still get it together. Some games will be easier and scoring will increase from those three. Some games will permit them to pat their stats. Look at the Buf-Phi last night. A few powerplays came change the outcome of a game in a matter of minutes and everyone gets to pat their stats. Not like the old NHL where teams just waited for their oponents to make a mistake in order to get a scoring chance.
Dimitrakos - there is just no room for his type. Any forward we pick up has to be a center to play top two line minutes.
If Carbo was to reshuffle his top three lines, I wouldn't mind seeing the following:
Perez-Koivu-Kovalev --- played together to start the year last year and did quite well
Higgins-Pleks-Ryder --- or put Higgs at center with Sammy on the wing
Sammy-Bonk-Johnson --- or with the other scenario, Bonk-Pleks-Johnson
I think these lines would better better balanced, having defensive awareness on each line, a worker or more on each, a puck carrier on each and the shooters would be better spread.
But as long as we're winning, there is no sense in changing things around, even if one line isn't scoring, as long as none of the lines look consistently outmachted.
I wouldn't touch anything at this point. The team chemistry is too good to mess with at this point. Huet had a horrible game but the team played great together. Komisarek is a stud and he hit everything but the Provigo sign on the boards last night.
Unless Crosby hits the waivers, don't touch anything.
We have to leave the first line, no doubt about that....but we may have to consider a second line shuffle.....I'm really liking the energy that Johnson brings as well.....so...what about this....
Ryder....Koivu....Higgins
Kovy.....Pleks....Johnson
Sammy...Begin....Latty
Murray...Bonk...Perez
Or even switch Latty with Johnson, i wish they'd play Latty more....he's not out there causing mistakes and giveaways....and i said it before, the fans love him.
I wouldn't touch the first line either. At least not right now. It's only a matter of time tho, that this combination will cool down, or someone will get injured. Lines rarely stay together for an entire season anymore. Gone are the days of Lafleur-Lemaire-Shutt or Leach-Clarke-Barber or Robert-Perreault-Martin.
I was just thinking at some point in the future. It already looks like Carbo changed the second and third by moving Perez up and Sammy down. This might work out better for both. Perez played well with both Pleks and Kovalev last year in separate occasions. And Sammy will not have Kovy competing for the puck on his line. Neither Bonk or Johnson are known to carry the puck excessively.

Drop Bonk and Perez to 4th line...two of the Habs best players the last two games....what have you been watching?
