if you check the stats, it says that ryder has only scored 2 goals so far, but , this isn't true or is it? he scored the first goal of the season for the habs(1 goal), he scored in the shoot-out,the winner, so that one should count(2 goal) and he scored last night against philly( 3 goal) sound right?
would be nice wouldnt it newfie!.....but and-o is right, Shoot-out stats DO NOT count and in any shootout win, there is an asterix stating the game winner was a SO goal and DOES NOT count for the GF GA G or GWG sections

Also, penalties end before the shootout. In the Leaf game, Tucker was in the sin bin at the end of OT, yet was still allowed to shoot in the shootout. I'd change that rule. Let a penalized player stay penalized!

that's great for the team, for any team, great show for the fans, but there is nothing for the players. if the winning goal counted for the player stats, would not this give extra incentive for all players who are in shoot-outs to give all and be rewarded? makes you wonder that with shoot-outs becoming more routine and players becoming bored with them, how long before we( the fans) start saying that players didn't give their all and it will come!

I wouldn't worry about that too much. How much work is one penalty shot?! Surely the glory of being the hero is motivation enough for all players to try their best!?

Im sorry but scoring a winning goal and putting a W in the Wins Column is MUCH more important than a lousy goal. The way your thinking is making me believe you'd be one of those players who would be upset with not getting a goal in your personal stats if you won the game. I hope im wrong newfie...

But there's nothing more annoying than teams who send out the goons with 15 seconds left and the game over because they can't accept an already lost game. Their penalties should carry over into the next game. That would be cool.
