I never meant for it to get this far (& it shouldn't have.. .this is an absolute extreme & is completely unnecessary) but I did feel like it was a personal attack.

I never PM'd him (other than to say, I'm sorry he's decided to take a break) & he never PM'd me. He didn't send me a message sayin' that the way I took his remark was wrong, he kept puttin' out more statements makin' me feel ..... well I won't go over it again to save some peoples sanity.

I'm not a hockey expert, I'm not a hockey genius.... but I never claimed to be either. I am a girl who loves her Habs & felt passionate about the attacks on certain players after 2 games & spoke about my passion. To have what I said repeated back to me in a sarcastic manner... I flipped my lid. If this board is only for "experts" then let me know & I'll mosey on out.... 'til then, maybe a little compassion when respondin' would be a sure cure.

If/when I decide to go... I won't make a public announcement, I'll slip out unnoticed.

Yes I "freaked out" but when I'm bein' talked down to like a child... I act like one.

I also thought I'd mention... I've been basically talkin' rwp2le in off of the ledge through-out this whole tirade. He hasn't posted in a long time 'cause he feels there is unnecessary / premature bashin' goin' on... & has deleted posts before sendin them to prevent a huge Hoop-la. (although, a hoop-la still happend)

I'd hate to hear what he'd post on the topic.... 'cause I promise... it would be 50 times worse than what I've typed .....

(not that I'd agree.... but he's takin' some of what been said as personal too.... I'm workin' on him... I hope it helps )

Last thing I'll say on the topic (unless I feel I should defend myself) .... let differin' opinions be differin'.... no one will agree with each other 100% of the time.... it's how you treat those that you disagree with that matters. No ones posts are ridiculous.... unless of course they say that Gretzky is comin' to the Habs.

Sorry for the hi-jack Nil. I fully believe Barry will be back and hopefully the board can learn that there is better ways to deal with a problem than slap-backs in a thread. I thought we stopped doing that LAST season. Let's breathe before we post, all.

We're all Hab fans, with differing opinions, but we should all get along.

Amen Nil! I read the whole thread and it seemed to start from nowhere. I think the best thing to do would be to make up and forget about it. Most of us on this board have had at least one fight, but we've all gotten over them. I know that I would never have any hard feelings for anyone because when you post in the heat of the moment, things are said that maybe you wouldn't want to say. In the end, we're all Habs fans and I wouldn't want to lose either of you, particularly someone as knowledgeable as Barry, whose posts are always among my favorites.

Here's hoping everything works out!

If you guys would like And-O and I can go at it again, uncovering more than 5 years of animosity and dislike that this board has never seen before or since.  What do you say And-O, care to drop the gloves?

P.S.  Just kiddin'.  I'm too friggin' busy trying to make it through another day to get into a beef over something as silly as an on-line post.  Make up Barry and MC...life's too damn short.  Hockey seasons are too damn short too.

I have no problem with disagreein'... this board is full of disagreein' between posters, it's half the fun. I was postin' strongly about my opinion on the matter but was never "angry" until that one post to another poster mockin' me. That wasn't the first time he talked me down like that, but he caught me on a BBBAAADDD day this time & I got mad. However, I've moved on, it's over, I did take what he said/how he said it to heart.... but I'm over it now.

I'm thinkin' he was gonna be takin' a break for a bit anyways (with his big move comin' up) I can't imagin he'd leave the board over something I feel should have been worked out 2 days ago. It was a post meant to trigger a debate & debatin' is great... just don't cut me down doin' it. To leave over this.... well anything I type will sound like name callin' & that's not what I want.... it was just a tad overboard to jump ship over it.

I might have over reacted in some posters eyes, but I've been gettin' the "What would a woman know about this?" vibe from him for a while. Not often mind you, but enough for my anger to build slowly. Sunday was a awful day & was just bad timin' for that debate I guess.
