How was the second line? Was there any effort or chemistry from Kovy and Sammy?

It was better than the first game, but still a lot of individuality out there.  As I mentioned in another post, Samsonov reminds me of Oleg Petrov.

Both Samsonov and Kovavlev want the puck all the time and like to carry it a long time; I really think they should spit them up.

Plekanec had a few good chances but couldn't pull the trigger.

I would split them up.

Place Kovalev on a line with pleck and latendresse. That Latendrese guy looks like a garbage goal kinda guy( which is good). That way Kovalev can create havoc while Latty crouds the net.

Then Samsonov with Begin and Johnson.

Then Bonk with Perez and Murray(although I did like the Bonk-Johnson-perez mix last night).

Anyone else with an idea to spit Samsonov and Kovalev up?...they just play to similar to mix on a line. IMO

I'd like to see Begin on a line with Pleks and Kovy. That line needs someone with decent hands and speed who isn't afraid to throw his weight around. It would open up some room for Kovy and I think it would inspire Pleks -- who I would love to see combine Kovy's playmaking skill and Begin's grit.

Move Samsonov to the 4th line and put him with Latendresse and Bonk. On that line, Sammy's speed could be a big help and maybe we'd get some production out of those three. Not sure where Johnson would fit in, but I like what I'm seeing out of that guy so far. That goal he scored last night vs. the Leaves was nifty.

Yeh guys, I agree! I was suggesting this during exibition that they're too similer to provide chemistry together. It's like one of the player's talents gets wasted because there's only one puck.

I like Muller's idea for lines. For Desi...the reason I would keep Begin and Kovy apart is because they played together a little last season and had no chemistry...if I remember right it led to a verbal fight because Kovy criticized Begin for shooting the puck...you guys remember this more specifically?

Anyway, I really think they need to be split up! Also, just because they're both Russian doesn't mean an instant recipe for a compatable line mate. Who knows, they may not even like each other.
