You know i watched the Nj game and they were saying Brodeur playe 65 plus games a year. he loves to work and he plays better because he does not sit for many games. Why is it that Huet will not start again tonight. I think thewy should go with one guy for a few games so he can find his feet. I just do not have much confidence in Abby. Unfortunately Raycroft is playing very well. I say we need to storm the net again and again. Also our D will be equally as busy keeping our crease clear
I think I would go with Abby..why burn out Huet early? The reason Gainey kept Abby is to have a solid back-up and for back to back games.
Hey guys....I'm sad that I have to miss this one as I have a wedding to go to this evening. I'm counting on this board to be somewhat discriptive so I can form a mental picture of the game.

I don't think Carbo has decided who's his #1 for the year yet. Huet did not have a great camp, so the jury's still out. I would go with Huet, but I think Coach Carbonneau wants to play them both at the start of the year to see which one has the hot hand. (Plus it's not a bad strategy for two games in two nights, especially with travel in-between.)

Couldn't agree more Nil. I think Aeby to start tonight is the right choice too.
Accordin' to NHL.com ..... Huet is gettin' the start.
...Huet, who stopped 33 of 37 shots Friday, hopes for a better result against Toronto. He is 2-1 with a 2.68 GAA and a .917 save percentage in three starts versus the Maple Leafs - all last season...
I won't get into the goalie debate but I think Huets play last night was just short of stellar. He made some very nice saves to preserve the lead (when we had it of course....) and the save he made on Briere in the shootout was just plain awesome. His weakness appears to be high to the glove side and he will have to work on that because everyone will be watching those damn replay tapes. Personally...I would give him the start again tonight because I have just not been impressed by Abby's play since he came to town but it's early in the season and I have to agree that the hot hand will rule when it comes to our goaltenders. GO HABS GO!!!!!
Brutal second period by the Habs. It seemed like they were out-manned all the time. They only came to life in the final 30 seconds. Hopefully that will carry over into the third.
Watching Samsonov play reminds me of Oleg Petrov. About the same size and build, full head of steam, circling all over the place, but no great results. I'm starting to think, like several of you have mentioned, that Samsonov and Kovalev should be split up. Two puck-hogs on the same line might not be a good idea.
Go Habs!

Abby is what I would call a flopper but he did play a good game. The save he made on the 4th Leafs shooter was very nice but, as usual, the posts were his best friend last night.....
God I hate Tucker. That hit on him by Komi was BEAUTIFUL!
The picture of Koivu in the shootout is hilarious! Father, did you enhance that pic? 'Cause the puck looks way out of line...Raycroft's looking one way, Koivu's shooting another and the puck is totally away from them both...
