If we take from our D to add a center, we're in greater trouble. I feel Souray and Rivet are our size, leadership and grit back there. Adding Nitwit and Reverse doesn't give us the luxury of getting thinner.
I feel strongly that Nitwit will wear thin with you all by season's end. Gainey won't re-sign him...he's an expensive filler at this point. One will never know but even Cote would of added more.
As for center position, I agree with Muller, Johnny, And-o and a few others, we're better by deduction. We'll have more chemistry by committee that will over shadow our lack of a top centermen. I'm actually not too worried up front. I also predicted last season that if Gainey didn't add a centermen that Plecs would become a top centermen for us this season...it looks like that is what's happening. I do feel Plecs will more than make up for the loss of Ribs.
Isn't asking a second year player like Plecs to be the team's top center a little too much? The kid is solid, I agree, without a doubt. I also agree that he can paly between Sammy and Kovy but to say your not worried about the forwards..hmmm. You should be somewhat worried.
Look at our division. It's not a cake walk. Any team can end up in the cellar, any team, including les Habs

Key Lime...it would be great if Gainey could add a bonified centermen but not at the expense of one of our D.

And we're not asking him to be our top centreman. Nominally at least, that is the number two line. All he's being asked to do is centre a line where he has great chemistry. Lats will face far more pressure, and Pleks seems to be a cool headed guy. If he can't handle the pressure of being on a scoring line then he won't make it very far in this league. I think he will do just fine.
He was drafted to be a well-rounded 2nd-line center and now he has the chance to make good on that. He showed some good stuff last year and he is only going to get better.
