What made me laugh (yet did not surprise me) is when Glenn Healy said "I should not have taken Alfreddson. He is a Senator and Leafs do not like the Senators". And there folks is your unbiased TSN announcer!

I'm as confused as a starving baby in a topless bar!
Who do you guys see as our top fantasy players? We have rounded scoring and rounded D. I didn't watch the draft and can't imagine many good fantasy picks from the leafs either (other than Sundin and maybe Tucker if penalty minutes count for something) but every fantasy rankins list I look at ignores Habs completely.
Huet would be great if he can repeat, Markov has decent totals from the Blue line, and Ryder, Higgins, and Lats could all hit the 30 goal mark this year. So, of curiosity, who would you guys pick as our number one fantasy player. I will avoid the obvious Huet and say Koivu, since I think he will rack up assists playing between to goal scorers.
You cant be TOO upset about not having many or even ANY habs in a top 50 ranking. Especially for a fantasy draft. Montreal is NOT a big scoring team. And we havent the power ( offensively ) to be anywhere near the thorntons/jagrs, crosby, ovechkin, staal, spezzas ....it goes on. Montreals TOP fantasy player IS Kovalev. And even he ( in say a 12 person draft ) would make it possibly all the way into the 4 maybe even fifth round. And rightfully so in my opinion. What reason would you take a hab over say someone on a team like Ottawa, buffalo, Anahiem? Honestly guys, we arent a BIG scorign team. We have had 1 30 goal scorer in the past heck im guessing 5-6 years. And even HE in my opinion is far from proven or even safe to consider a sure thing for 25/season. Ryder is great but not elite. Kovelev is elite, but doesnt play elite like he should. Koivu is capable of 0-70 pts/ season, but even that is considered crap ( sorry ) when compared to thornton 120+ ovechkin/crosby 100+ and so on...
UNTIL montreal REALLY gets that 1 player who makes a difference game in and game out and can take some load off of koivu's shoulders ( in other words a BONIFIED #1 center in his prime ( not leaving it....i wouldnt have been too happy about shanahans coming...if he did dign here...) Then you cant really be upset about montreals players...or lack off...in any fantasy draft.
