Is it just me or is Mark Streit looking very good this preseason. I did not get to see the whole game tonight, but he played over 28 minutes and was a plus one.
i was att he game on saturday and he might have been the second best player that night (after Johnson). But as i stated already it is the PREseason, so i am still hoping that his good play can carry over to when it counts.
If he manages to keep up his play though, it gives the Habs some breathing room with the loss of boullion. Because if he does not pan out once the season starts, it could spell trouble for the Habs and their D corpe.
What do you guys feel about him and his play in general? He is a guy who has definatly been flying under the radar...

I agree. Lats year many members said he had to go. It was a huge adjustment for him. He can wheel and deal and in the new NHL that is a prime commodity in a dman. He will be one of our best this year.

At 600,000 per year this is about the right salary for a 7th dman.
My hypothetical question for the day is this...would Streit even be a 7th dman on any other team in the NHL? In other words, is this an indication of our sorry lack of depth at that position both in Montreal and Hamilton?

Yes heet I too had my doubts for awhile..but I admit he has converted me. I give the guy full marks for making the adjustment. Not the first time I have eaten my words ans I am sure it will not be my last

Sorry Barry, had anyone else posted the same as you did (I think only power ever defended Streit), I would have done the same. It was less than a month ago when most of us, including me, would have been quite content, or at the very least ambivilant, to see Streit leave.

i too was one who didnt see a need for streit , but im willing to give him a second chance just like ribs. if either turns out to be a bust or a boom then i will have an attitude that reflects their change .
