I know this will upset the women on the board..especially those who are divorced..but isnt it funny how they settled so fast? Leanne Domi whined and cried about her hubby cheating (get over it Leanne, 90% of NHL players do it and you probably knew Tie was but you were happy to live in a 1.5 million dollar home and spend the big salary he made). Now dont get m ewrong. He cheated and now has to pay the piper. But come on!!! Starnge ho wmany of these women cry about wanting equal rights in the workplace etc...but come divorce time they love playing the "poor me" card.

Strange how 30,000 a month in "spousal support" plus being given the 1.5 million dollar home can make you settle out of court. Throw in the 15,600 a month she is asking for in child support and she now has a monthly income of 45,600, plus a 1.5 million dollar paid for home to live in....not too shabby! Now I have no problem with child support. I have been divorced for 5 years and have NEVER been a day late with a payment. But I have a really hard time figuring out this spousal support thing. Memo to Leanne Domi. You are single now. Go get a job and support yourself.

Atta boy Barry33! Mrs. Domi has shown herself as a 'puck bunny' who cares only when it costs!!! In fact, as was revealed in the Toronto Star today, Leanne already overlooked one 'double dip' of Tie's in the past. Plus, the guy has been linked to Tia Carerra...and a few other hotties...not so long ago!!! (This being famous thing sounds tough, eh!!?!?!?!?!)

And-o (AND Mrs. And-o) thinks that each party should take out of a marriage NOTHING MORE than what was brought into that marriage (and don't forget guys...many ladies contribute more financially than men nowadays)! NO KIDS cost $15,000 per month to raise - that is just madness!!! And, there is only one way that 'puck bunny' could ever be worth another $30,000 per month on top of that....try replacing the 'p' with an 'f'!!!

...these lawyers who help set these precendents are just plain scum!!!

Whoo hoo! Not judging on Mrs. Domi overlooking a double-dip in the past, as I did the same thing. When you're married with kids you can forgive (but not always forget) a hell of a lot. Second time was my limit, though - too bad for him! I got sick of worrying every time my man left the house or went to sea who his latest dalliance was...so after two (that I know of) that was the end of it for me.

Don't forget though guys, she is not the guilty party here. And, by law, (Beak, correct me if I am wrong) if she's not currently employed Tie has a responsibility to maintain the lifestyle to which she has become accustomed. She stayed with that coconut-headed goon for all of those years, raised his kids and maintained his home. AND she's claiming that he's violent and abusive off of the ice as well. If this is true she deserves some compensation.

Further, it always pisses me off to see some rich idiot screw around on his wife with some home-wrecking bimbo and the kids' lifestyle suffer when the daddy money dries up.

I know, I know, you guys on the board will all be saying "ooh, Habgirl's bitter, tsk tsk". But ya know, I am quite the opposite. I am happier and healthier than I have been in years now that the cheater's cheatin' on others and I don't have to worry about it any more.

Leanne, YOU GO GIRL! You deserve better, and Tie should be financially making some sort of amends. The ELIGIBLE men will be lining up soon, and you will be in a position to pick the cream of the crop. Now that you're rid of that scum dummy, be a little pickier this time though, ok?

To me Di, settlements like this just put the womens movement further behind..not ahead. Everytime a woman cries about unequal pay in the workplace, about being treated unfairly because she is a woman, we need only point to ridiculous cases like THIS to see why. How much quality time did she spend with the kids (as opposed to Nannies)?
