Watch the ex-habs come back to haunt the Canadiens this year. Especially R. Zednik, playing on a line with A. Ovechkin and D. Zubrus (another ex-hab). If the chemistry is right then can do really well. Also Zednik and Zubrus are UFA at the end of this season
I'm less optimistic about J. Bulis, who is listed as a center but can play left wing. Considering the depth that Vancouver has in those position, he is likely suited to play on the third line and subjected to a checking role like Montreal. Advantage that Bulis has, he is now playing in a more offesive system in Vancouver and has the potential to play with good linemates. Also, he is an UFA at the end of the year.
Wouldn't be surprised to see them do well as they're good players to start with. Ovechkin and Zed are both lt. wingers. Are you sure they'll be on the same line?
I think it's too hard to predict for Zednick. He has to do better than last year. This is his contract year and he should be more motivated than last year. So he should try a diferent move once in a while rather than the one handed along the board and around the net to finally lose the puck. Even if he sets career high, he wasn't going to do it here the way he played last year.
The problem is, he still doesn't pass the puck. So his linemate can maybe best exploit his talents, but he won't utilize his linemates' talents to make himself better.
Can't really worry about Zednik's #s, since we don't have an Ovechkin to play with here. It would be way more of a kick in the nuts, if he put up 40Gs, playing on a team like the Islanders or something like that.
