Who should be Next to go?

With all the changes i've seen this year, the habs have not yet beefed up their blue line like they're supposed to...with Bouillon out for a little while...Who will take his place? and should they make a trade?....i think Souray has to go...he's too slow i mean...i watched at least 70% of the season games and 100% of the playoff games...to see how slow he reacts to plays...he has a hell of a shot but no reaction on defense....just look how he got burnt by Spezza and Bergeron those two times....and thats just 2 out of the other 50 times he got burnt badly last year....i dont hate him, I just dont like his style

I agree with you. I wish we would have had the big money to have brought Chara to Habland. Instead he is in Beantown. I would go out on a limb and say that with Chara we would have been a real contender

There were d-men this Summer that I would have chosen ahead of Chara. Actually, if I could pick any 6 D for my team, he would not be one of them. But I do agree that we could certainly use an upgrade and Souray is a prime candidate to be moved.

Chara's good, but I'm curious to see how he reacts to having forwards in front of him who do NOT dominate the game the way the Senators' forwards did. And also Stuart instead of Redden ... where Redden has always seemed mature beyond his years, Stuart still often seems like a rookie with tons of talent but too much inconsistency.

As for Souray...frustrating sometimes. But we need him right now, and he did pick up his play the second half of the season.

Chara is a very good defenseman but I have thought from the moment that Boston signed him that they paid too much. If I was Gainey I would be seriously looking at Leetch. I think he could be signed for a reasonable amount and he would bring experience and depth to our blueline. Best part is that I think he would sign a 1 year deal with incentives and that wouldn't tie up our cap space in a major way. BG and Carbo seem to be happy with our foward lines (even if we the fans aren't lol) but with the Cube on the sidelines for at least 2 months we need to address that hole with someone who can quarterback the powerplay and bring some leadership to the locker room. Just my 2 cents......

I forgot about leetch. Boston did dump Tanabi, Gill and Boynton. Those three did constitute a solid d core. Im surprised they got rid of so much, but they did need cap space
