Grabovski is the Hab recruit the most likely to start the season in Montreal's lineup. After all, he finished as 6th in scoring at the world championship last spring behind the likes of Crosby,Oveckin and Bergeron. The Director of Player Development Trevor Timmins likes Grabovski so much that he compared him to Pavel Datsuk of the Red Wings. Timmins was not disappointed after Friday's game. The young 5'11" 182lbs. Belarusian scored twice as well as got an assist. He demonstarted alot of talent and speed overshadowing the other recruits ( honourable mention to Chipchura who controlled the play in all three zones as well and made numerous precise passes).
Timmins, referring to Graboski said that we know about his talent, but what really impressed him tonight was his passion on the ice. He took several solid checks, but you could see that he was ready to battle for the puck. His style reminds him more of a North American player than a Europaen. Grabowski is in excellent shape. You should see him without his equipment on--he's a monster.(Maguirish)
Muller promised that Grabovski will get a good look at the real camp. He has good speed and what acceleration. The new NHL is made for measure for players like him. Life will be more difficult for him against the pros, but he will benefit from the better quality in the Pro camp.
Grabovski's name did not appear on the Central Recruitment list before the draft. It was Pierre Gauthier who discovered him.
The question is, if he makes the team who is he replacing? He has to play at least top-9, but he should really play top-6. I see him between Kovalev and Samsanov with Ribs being shipped off if Grabovsky proves he belongs.

I've checked a few places and it always shows Grabovski as a winger. I think it would be great if he could play centre, but does anyone know if he has ever played in the middle???

I hear a lot of talk lately about a move to center for Kovalev. I don't know how this would work for that line, but I would think that he would be better off staying on the wing.
Then again, look what a move to center did for Damphousse.

I think it might be worth tryin' What's the worst that could happen?
I thought he played center, because they talked about him centering the Kostitsin's eventually in another article. If he does play centre, I can see Pleks or Grabs moving to the wing (if he makes the team). If everything goes good, and he's ready for top six duty, maybe then a trade of Ribiero in the second half of the season would be in order. (I know a few people wouldn't mind, except maybe for Rejean Tremblay and the clowns on 110%).

It may work. Still frustrates the hell out of me that on the eve of the season we are talking about experiments at Center. Is there no one available in the whole league that actually has played Center since their Pee Wee Days?!??

Grabovski has been playing centre during the rookie tournament, and I also believe that he played centre in the World Championships, though I can't find confirmation on that anywhere. I think he was drafted as a winger because that is where he was playing with his club at the time, but he is a natural centre.

He occasionally played center when he was playing at Dynamo Moskva, I saw 2 games that he played 2nd line center when they had some injury problems. Only problem was that his wingers wasn´t speedy enough for him, so he did most of the work by him self. If I remember right he did 3 points at those 2 games(2+1 or 1+2).
