As strange as the Danton(or whatever his name is) saga was, you have to believe now that Danton was a young victim of a sexual abuser. No wonder Danton wanted to kill this guy. He was a mixed up kid that didn't know how to react to Frost. Love him or kill him????

Danton gets 7.5 years for a threat and Frost will probably get less for his assaults on young kids.

Why is it everytime I see this guy on TV (anyone watch CBC's The Fifth Estate report earlier this year?) I feel the need to cringe?   And why and how did Bob Goodenow fast-track him as an agent, we'll never know.

When the book comes out, the Goodenow/Frost relationship will become quite clear.

As for Frost, what goes around-comes around.  What really is unbelievable, is that almost to this day, he has been allowed to continue in some capacity to be connected to Junior hockey teams here in Ontario. Certainly makes you wonder about what some of the people that run these organizations really care about.

The situation is earily similar to the Sheldon Kennedy tragedy. Anyone who has not read it yet, I strongly recommend that you buy Sheldon's book, "Why I didn't say anything". It is a sad tale and if any of you have kids in competitive sports, it should be enough to raise your eyebrows.

Frost will appear in court this morning. Does this point to a lack of adminstrative oversight by the old boys' club that runs hockey in Canada (i.e., various minor associations, junior leagues, the NHLPA).

Isn't this Curious-

In 1995 Frost organized a junior team of his own in Toronto, headlined by Danton, Keefe and his other “Brampton Boys.” Another player on that squad was Joe Goodenow, the son of then NHLPA President Bob Goodenow. Goodenow forged a strong relationship with Frost during that season, even ignoring Frost’s later antics like punching out one of his players on the bench, in full view of horrified fans. Many believe that Frost’s agent certification was shepherded by Goodenow, and he was now free to represent players in negotiations with NHL teams.

Makes you wonder why Goodenow realy "left" his position. Maybe I'm jumping at shadows but this kind of thing would kill your career. Better to sneak off quietly through the front door than be thrown out of a moving van going 100! Goodenow stinks stank stunk. And if Frost doesn't give you shivers, I'd be shocked. This guy looks like a slimeball.

I used to play hockey with a guy who played Major Junior with Sheldon Kennedy.  He claims that Sheldon was a strange, very damaged fellow.  And that pr**k (James, was it?) ruined him just like this pr**k (Frost) ruined Danton.

They're throwing the wrong guys in jail.  Actually, jail would be too good for these abusers; they should have their d**ks cut off, then thrown in jail - in the "Bubba" section.

NAPANEE, Ont. (CP) - Former NHL agent and junior hockey coach David Frost was freed on $10,000 bail Wednesday, and afterward publicly proclaimed himself not guilty of charges that he sexually exploited a group of teenagers.

"Innocent," said Frost, clad in a blue T-shirt and sunglasses, as he was led from the courthouse and into his lawyer's waiting car after a brief court appearance in this quiet eastern Ontario town.

"You have a nice day," he said before the car sped off.

In the nearby community of Deseronto, locals said Frost - a former coach with the Tier II Deseronto Quinte Hawks junior hockey team - was known for an aggressive and confrontational style of coaching.

Lori Brant, 46, who said she attended nearly every game and practice, recounted she often saw Frost yelling at players and throwing hockey sticks.

Frost faces 12 charges of sexual exploitation and one charge of assault, all related to a series of alleged incidents involving seven teens - four boys and three girls, all aged 14 to 16 - that police say took place between 1995 and 2001.

He's become known in recent years as the target of a bizarre murder-for-hire scheme concocted by his most prominent client, former St. Louis Blues forward Mike Danton.

Danton, whose original last name is Jefferson, is currently serving a seven-year sentence in a New Jersey prison for his role in the $10,000 US scheme to kill his agent.

Danton's father, Steve Jefferson, held a news conference Wednesday to talk about his son's former agent, whom Jefferson said he has long feared held far too much sway over his estranged son's life.

"My wife has hated him for a long time," he said.

Jefferson described the events surrounding Frost and his son as an "emotional roller-coaster."

He has bitterly blamed Frost for his estrangement with his son and said Frost is an "animal" who belongs in jail.

Jefferson said he believes there are others who should now come forward and talk about Frost. Frost was heard to say he was looking forward to his day in court as he was ushered into the courthouse Wednesday morning.

"I hope you rot," one young hockey player shouted back.

The player described Frost as a "very aggressive, very verbal" coach.

Frost was freed on condition he report to police once a week and that he not have any contact with a long list of individuals whose names are subject to a publication ban.

He's scheduled to appear in court again Sept. 19.

Police would not reveal if the alleged teen victims were involved in hockey, nor would they provide any further details of the incidents, which police say took place in the Deseronto and Napanee area west of Kingston.

Police have also refused to say whether the alleged incidents took place during Frost's time behind the bench of the Quinte Hawks.

Frost has previously been banned by the Ontario Hockey Association and suspended by the Metropolitan Toronto Hockey League.

Jefferson said he hopes the charges against Frost help his son to better understand his former agent.

How many of you now feel sorry for Mike Danton..Sir name Jefferson?

You have to believe now that the guy was abused by Frost as a youngster and was one mixed up kid!

I personally hope this will help him get out of jail earlier and start the therapy he needs.

As I said, read Sheldon Kennedy's book and it will give you a true insite of what these animals do to these kids. It has certainly shed light for me on why Danton because the way he did. Sheldon Kennedy is a good guy who is finally getting his life on track. I wish him the best.
