the fact that he hasnt caught on with any team and has been traded so often gives me the impression that he is not what we habs fans once thought he was. he will likely never make it in the nhl, or else people would not be so quick to get rid of him.

makes you wonder why he was traded in the first place. or not.
Lets keep in mind that Balej just recovered from a life threating injury, both of his kidneys were crushing in a freak (non hockey) accident. Since that incident I don't think he has been the same type of player he was. A little more timid, and afraid.

What was the mistake again? If I recall, we ended up with Kovalev, who was a key part of us getting to the next round of the playoffs. I'm not sure what we lost exactly....
