I don't know how many of you are familiar with youtube.com, but for those who aren't it's a site where people can upload video clips. It's supposed to be the most popular site on the entire web, and there's some pretty amazing stuff on it. Anyway, I was sitting around yesterday watching old Blondie and Shangri-las videos (and Bill Hicks), when I thought "hey, there's bound to be some Habs stuff here," and lo and behold...it was the first footage I'd actually ever seen of Lafleur, Gainey, Carbo, etc. Names I hear mentioned daily on this site. The highlight was a ten-minute long clip of a huge brawl between the Canadiens and Nordiques back in '84. For all I know that kind of thing was a common occurance back in the old days, but I've never seen anything quite like it. The puck hadn't even dropped for the start of the third period when both teams were at it again. The poor PA guy was still going through the penalties awarded in the second period. Great stuff...
For those that don't quite remember the fight, it was the one were Dale and Marc Hunter squared off. I think it was Marc that said after the game in reference to fighting his brother, that he figured the worst part was going to be when they had to face their mother.
