Koivu skating again
Permalink Closed

It basically says he started skating again

True Big-Mac…very true!

As And-o has rationalized/explained numerous times, Saku has had +3 months (thus far…and counting) to assess and report his readiness for action (while enjoying the summer off mind you).

And, given the total reliance of the Habs on Saku as their top centre (not to mention the huge amount of money tied up in his deal…11% of the whole payroll…which…by the way…could have easily recently afforded a top centreman…WITHOUT the no-trade clause), And-o just doesn’t get how/why anyone could/would argue that Saku is ‘owed’ more time to declare his readiness/intentions?!?!

Exactly how much more time, money, waiting, watching and ‘getting by’ are we supposed to give?  If this being ‘cold-hearted’, then count And-o in that category!!!

Clearly though…as And-o stated here the week Saku left Montreal…Saku is/was/will be ready to go in September!

Good to see Saku leave the injury in the past and get on with preparing himself to get on with fulfilling the terms of his monster contract (as well as the obligations of accepting the ‘C’ in Montreal)!

but and-o not even you can predict how a person is going to recover from an injury , i felt all along he'll be ready , just because he'd have 6months to be ready but whos to say his eye will recover in 6 months maybe it'll take 7 , but i believe he'll be ready . oh and you cant get a number 1 center for under 5 mil . what 1 did you have in mind .

Well, that was the longest "I told you so" I've ever seen!

But as I stated before, I'm very glad you were right on this one.

Saks leadership, and heart are well worth the $4.75 mill.  Some people say he is overpaid, but really who isn't overpaid in the NHL these days?

Koivu is the man and #1 center on your Habs. I believe he was also #1 center on Team Finland who won the Silver at the Olympics... He was captain their as well.

Koivu...number one center on approximately 20 NHL teams...

Captain of Team Sweden was Sundin. I didn't say Sundin wasn't a great captain and first line center. All I was implying is that Saku is a great captain and first line center.

Uhmm Mulsey...what are the 20 teams and who are the centers that the oft injured low scoring Saku Koivu would walk onto and knock the existing number one guy?
