Can someone explain what is going on with this guy?

If his injury was a herniated cevical disc and he played through it most of the last season than who is to say he will be 100% for this coming season? Has he had a surgical removal of it or is it assumed that with the off season break he'll be all better?

 What's his health status?

A recent story in the Gazette said he was receiving treatment and that he was expected to be ready for the start of training camp.

Hey big guy, did you ever play with that kind of lingering injury? All I'm saying is that they don't go away over night. Ryder isn't Mario who can play in pain and still be the best in the world. Ryder is a good player but needs to be healthy to work on his game and improve to his best potential possible.

Again, I was just concerned about his future and wondering what his status was.
