thats all well and good but how many will be shown nationally ,some saturdays when montreal is not playing To. they are head to head with To. and what games do you think will be nationally . and as far as tsn goes they are showing 20 regional To. games to make up for the 2 less games they are showing them nationally. but all in all its a step in the right direction .
Wow! Finally CBC gets it right! I have the Center Ice package so I would see the games anyhow, but it will be a welcome change to have Hockey Night in CANADA broadcast all the Canadian teams for a change!
Perhaps they received a lot of complaints last year and decided to change things?
I believe I counted 10 of those games will be seen nationally or at least in Ontario as well as Quebec but 7 are against T.O. I live in Southern Ontario the other games won't be shown in my area but thankfully I have RDS.
For years, many of us have sent letters, emails to the CBC and Canadiens organization about the lack of CBC coverage of the Habs. Glad to see a marked improvement.
how can you tell manton , it only tells what time the games are not weather they will be shown nationally or locally , at least i didnt see it antwhere.
If the Habs play the same time as the Leafs, it will be the Leaf game featured in Southern Ontario is my guess. The Habs probably will only be seen in Quebec and possibly the maritimes. Now in the past, when the Habs played at the same time as the Leafs, the Habs games would sometimes be shown in Eastern and Northern Ontario as well as Quebec.
well i hope to see them play here in n.s. , i cant understand french , and hate when something goes on and i cant figure out what they are saying trying to explain what happened or a refs decision , i go nuts.
I am not sure if the Habs will be shown in the East coast/N.S. where you are. In the past, your region had been included on some occasions. If I am not mistaken, one of the Pittsburgh at Montreal games this past season was shown in N.S. I guess because of the Crosby connection. I noticed one of the CBC games features the Pens at Habs Dec 16. Chances are you'll see that game in English.
I have no problem understanding the French play-by-play but that's because years of listening to the Radio Canada broadcasts in the 70's up until they lost the radio broadcast rights in the 90's.
I do long for the days of Gallivan and Irvine though. It's about time the Habs organization insisted on its own broadcast crew.

Well, red, you should learn French; those SRC/RDS announcers are fabulous! Given the choice, I will always watch the game on a French channel.
But French is a hard language to learn - lots of punctuation, too!
