John- I agreel. Some of us are guilty of jumping th egun and being over critical. At the same time. some are guilty ov overlooking our deficiencies and thinking we have a Stanley Cup contender. I suspect that the real picture of the habs at this stage lies somewhere in the middle between the overly gloomy and the overly optomistic. That is why it is nice to hav e a forum like this to have so many differing views. We all balance each other out.

When media reports that the captain / leader of the team / #1 playmaker has not recovered from his injury, and may not start the season, what time exactly is it? time for wine and roses?  I dont think so.

Doom and gloom is justified.  Unless you're wearing rose coloured glasses.

And Mrs. Hab - where has she been of late? - is the wearer of the rose-coloured glasses, and I'm sure she thinks we're going to win the Cup this year.  (I think so too.)
