I'd hope if we are going to get rid of Bonk, we'd get something in return. Remember we traded Garon for Bonk (granted we got Huet in this deal, but you can't tell me that Gainey knew Huet was goin to have a breakout season when he made this trade)

IM very excited 2 see if he could put up the points like he did in ottawa took him a year to adjust with the habs and now i thjink this year he could put up 40,45,50.55 points i hope

as much as id like to we are getting nothing for bonk , if we could get a 5-6-7 pick i would consider it a steal , yes we did trade garon for bonk , but he is a bust and we dont need to hold on to him just because we gave up something good to get him . if you buy a fish and its rotten , you dont keep it because you paid good money for it . what other kind of annology did you expect , im a fisherman.

I don't know, he was starting to come around at the end of the season. I hope it continues into next season. Like come on every team has to have a goofy named player on the roster,he's ours

HE was one of our best penaly killers last year and in the playoffs, these guys are hard to find, so keep him, not everyone is on the team to score goals!

i realize he was good at pk and not everyone is there to score goals , but for what hes being paid he better bring more to the table , the way i see it we have begin, murry,pleks,johnson ,higgins koivu, to kill pms. bonk is redundant . what line up would you rather see. i like the first 1 , cause it saves us 2 mill we can use to upgrade the d with visnevski if we could land him .

I think Bonk will prove his doubters wrong this year. He has a history of slow starts, and he's certainly not a #1 centre. But he and Plekanec are there because they CAN fill in on the top two lines if necessary (very possible given Koivu's injury and Ribeiro's uncertain future as a top-liner), and Bonk is our only big centre. Until someone else comes along (I'm thinking Chipchura) let's wait and see with him. Begin is really best used as a winger.

Bonk did really pick it up offensively and defensively in the second half, so let us see what he can give us this year. He has one year left on his contract and Chipchura and Lapierre should be ready to come up next year and replace him.

I say keep him for now since he is our only Center who stands over 5'

good post "and-barry" , actually ribs is over 6 feet and johnson who can play center is 6-2 , but neither is as gritty as saks .
