RDS reporting that Bouillon got hurt and may need an operation.

More details to follow...

Not looking good since Streit is also not doing well...

Holy crap!  Just July yet and we're already with injury problems!  Bouillon, Latendresse, Streit, Koivu (sorry And-o).............

This may give Cote a chance to prove himself.

A lot of people seem to swear by Cote. I admit I've never seen him play in the minors.

I'm hoping, and I like the guy, but I have to say I wasn't blown away like some others about his NHL performance (although he was only just getting his feet wet). In fact at this point I prefer Streit, believe it or not.

This will test our depth if we have it. I always look at things like this as an opportunity for young guys to step up.

I have heard good things about Cote.  I work with you a few guys who go the Bulldogs games all the time.  I am hearing that he will be a physical force, and that is something we need.  The meaner our D becomes, the better in my eyes.

What bugs me is this. Apparently this has been bothering him for some time (his knee). He just went through lengthy contract negotiations. To me, one of two things should have happened:

  1. Bouillon should have had to pass a physical before the contract was offered

  2. Gainey should have been aware of his knee problems if this has been an ongoing problem

Now he has a new contract and all of a sudden he may require surgery?!?? Did he hurt it golfing?

yeah, the same should apply to Streit, he was injured before the world championships, yet he was convinced to play in the tournament, aggravating the injury. Was Gainey aware of Streit's injury prior to sign him to another contract?
