Why did it take Gainey so long to sign Ryder?

How far do these decisions on signings lie with the GM and how much with the coach?


Does the GM only concern himself with the money or is he in total charge of who gets signed?

I have no idea on that one, but welcome aboard, Grayskull.  I see from your profile you're in Dartmouth; I'm across the harbour from you.  There are a few NS'ers on this Board - Zulrath, Macneil, CaperHabFan, HabsCSI, and Barry33, who's an honorary Nova Scotian (a New Brunswicker who's starting to see the light). 



A lot of Maritimers and even a few Newfoundlanders too.
