One of my friends (no NHL contacts) showed me an article posted up on hockeytraderumors.com The Montreal GM apparently just offerred Souray-Ryder-Propect-1st Round Pick to Sasn Jose in exchange for Marleau-McLaren.
This trade in my opinion is stupid, and rumor is made up by someone who knows nothing about hockey, or is a complete SJ fanboy. I then got into a heated discussion about stupid trade rumors that come out of no where.
What I want to know is if I'm the only one that thinks this rumor is completely stupid and lop-sided towards SJ. I find that if the offer was: Souray- Ryder- 3rd Round pick for Marleau and McLaren (whom i do not want) is a fair trade....
Who knows. Seems steep on our end. I don't know how McLaren would handle Montreal after what he did to Zed. Never know what's made up or what's part true these days. I'd hate to see those 2 leave but if it made the club better, then go for it. But prospect and 1st rounder on top is too much.

Well, a real possibility is that Washignton wants Bonk, it was also mentioned in the same post I took the exerpt from, However I can semi-confirm that there are talks between washington and montreal.
Marleau...is just a big Ribeiro...he is still a wuss...and his best point production was 57 points until Jumbo arrived. AND AND AND...then what do we do with Ribeiro? He is not a third line center...he is not a fourth line center. He would just become redundant.
I would trade Ryder+Ribeiro+prospect for Marleau and Mclearn...
in other words Ryder one up for marleau in order to get a bigger albeit equally wussy center comapred to Ribeiro. But at least bigger and he might toughen up in Montreal under the gun.
And then trade Ribeiro one up for Mclearn...now that trade makes sense.
Im sorry, isnt Mclearen that big umph who took Zednik out of the playoffs a few years ago. The same guy we all grew to HATE! Im sorry but i NEVER want to see that guy wearing our glorious jersey! NEVER in my life would i make that trade. Once again, reasons i do not visit ANY trade rumour sites. Until the rumor hits TSN or Sportsnet it is FAR from anything serious...and at least on those stations/sites they get the truth. Sooooo, really stop wasting your time on these other sites that have little to no credibility at all and save yourself the trouble.

Actually, I did not think it was that bad. In many ways it remedies our hole in the center problem...maybe. And i figure sine Souray was involved, MONTREAL would land the prospect...
But they would then have to turn around and deal Ribeiro.
Just so you know, I don't care if people believe me or not. I'm not here to impress anyone. But yeah, you are wrong. I said Luongo would rather play in montreal than florida, he was holding out for a one year deal so he could sign with MTL next season. Which his mother told me. However he was dealt instead, and the Canuks promised they were serious about winning. Which is why Luongo signed long term with Vancouver.
