has anyone given any thought to maybe having Saks center Kovalev and Samsonov? How strong would THAT line be? Put Ribs between Higgins and Ryder (if he stays). One thing Ribiero can do is pass the puck alot like Koivu. I would not be surprised to see that line tried on a regular basis (I already expect Koivu to center Samsonov and Kovalev on the PP). Just a thought.

I figure Carbo is throwing us a bone with what he wants the lines to be but I imagine we'll see some combos along the way. Personally, I think having Ribs with Kovalev and Sammy is a good idea to try and get the kid goin'. If the SRK line produces, I wouldn't expect to e see S2K right away. HKR was a great line at the conclusion of the season past so why break it up. It all really makes sense. But don't expect 82 games with the same lines. We'll have plenty of time to see many combos.

Ya Figs I tend to agree. Ribs will be given an opportunity to porve he can work on the top line between Kovalev and Sammy..but I expect it to be a short experiment if it does not work and to either have Koivu there or move Pleks up and try that. The bottom line is that the habs need that line to produce a ton of offense, no matter who is centering them. The positive is that, for whatever reason, Kovalev seems to actually like Ribs as his center so , as Martha Stewart says 'This is a good thing".
