I think we're all happy to get Samsonov, because he always seems to step it up a notch playing us.
But many of you haven't seen the other Samsonov, because you aren't living in Bruinland. The other Samsonov disappears regularly, and while I'm pumped to get another scary scoring threat to go with Kovalev (and maybe because he's Russian they'll have that much more chemistry), I'm worried about the disappearing guy. Kovalev and Samsonov together could be awesome, or it could be the case of TWO guys who sometimes like to disappear doing it in tandem. We'll see.
One good thing: Samsonov's offense disappears at times (see this year's playoffs, where he was totally up and down, more often down), but he does seem to have what it takes to help out in other ways when he's in a slump, and he has a surprising amount of grit in the clutch moments. He was a useful part of Edmonton's run.
