Even though he's no longer a hab, this video really gets to me, and pisses me off.

Zed totally beat him on that play and SNAP! It was a great move by Zed. I guess I'll always like the guy and hope he does well. And, might I add, it's also the play that changed Kyle McLearan and why he's not in Boston anymore.

I agree, whenever i see or hear about him, I always hope its something bad. Cheap shots are something that gets me going...

I'll always remember Briser going over and hugging McLaren (instead of dropping the gloves) after the incident (nothing like sticking up for your teammate)

I don't know why you guys all say that play changed his career.  It is another media myth.

Zednick had his 2 best goal scoring seasons after that hit.

How many times have you seen zednik cut into center ice, like he was gonna do there SINCE that hit?

Zednick still went to the net quite often (see Bruins series of 2004).  I think his main problem was that he never recovered from his early season groin strain last year.  He played better in the playoffs than in the regular season.  He tried to rush back when Kovalev went down and he was never the same.  I still think he is a decent but not great top 6 forward.  Unfortunately with the development of Higgins and the signing of Sammy, there was no room in our top 6 for him.  If he was gonna be a pouter its good that he is gone.

I think he'll have a good season in Washington.  However i still think we got the better of the deal as i think Johnson will add about the same points (as Zed would get in Montreal, he will get more with 1st line minutes with AO obviously) but a better defensive presence and a better fit on the third line.
