Wow, what a change of pace. Gainey gets a few people to sign on the dotted line, makes a few trades, now all I'm hearing (not just from gohabs.com) that Gainey is a mastermind, the habs are a lock for the playoffs, yadda yadda yadda, when just a few days ago they were saying they wouldn't even watch the habs this year Or how the habs will be a lock for the top 5. I knoe not everyone thinks this way, its just funny that its always the same people

A special bunch, hab fans are

(not knocking anyone here....or am I )

In that way, we are worse than some. But, you know, it's just part of being a passionate group of fans. The fact that we gripe about or admire every move, including personal/scouts etc can't be a bad thing...most of the time.

barry33 will always be on the habs wagon ..but I will not have both cheeks fully on a seat (that best be a BIG seat) unless we get a center. But the good thing is this..maybe with Ribs between Kovy and Samsonov on the number one line (I agree with Ripple..no way will that line be the second line behind Koivus..at least it better not be!) nand with Ribs on his off season training program to bulk up to 115 lbs, he may have a career year! And if so, Gainey once again looks like a genius.

Even then, Barry, you can't help but love Ryder and Higgins. Top these 2 young studs off with Koivu and how can you complain? We've got the makings a fun season, I think. But, I'll admit, I'm on and off the wagon faster than most. But I usually internalize it

although i am pleased with the latest round of moves i am still scratching my head over a couple of his moves . striet for 2 more years , boulion for 1.9ish for 3 years and ribs for 1.9 . if those dont make you do a double take then your just too generous . no thank you to striet , tell bou. to go see what he can get then get back to us , and ribs should have been happy to get the same as last year , same as ryder but he will get 2.2-2.5 because of what ribs got . dont forget ryders numbers decreased last year , his plus minus was worse and he played on 1st line for 90% of the year ,and so many people have said ryder is a 1 trick pony (scoring)now thats a good trick but you better do it more often to expect a huge raise. .but such is life in the nhl , you dont produce and you get a raise .

Streit is a very fast defencemen a rly great puck mover. give him time  to adjust in the nhl and he will become the next Scott Nedemeir however u spell it.

The only signing that bothered me was Ribiero. The others were asking for more than they got, but Ribs was surprised about how much he got.

As for Streit... he will be a decent last pairing puck mover... now way will he ever be Niedermeyer.

I am always on the wagon, but I am sure a few people have tried to push/pull me off more than once!
