Though I'd love to, can't argue with that. Would I take Big E or Ally-Cat at <$1M with their drawbacks if they can 1) out score Ribs 2) out centre Ribs 3) out Ribs? Sure would. THere is a reason Ribs got 1 yr deal - cause if he doesn't cut it CUT HIM! It would be fun to have Big E booed at home 41 times this season. lol. Actually, it would make the season fun. But would either come? I don't know. I'd take Eric over Jay, though.

If Bob wouldn't of signed Ribs I would've said go for it. Now that we have Ribs inked we need to trade him to get another center.

I was waiting for And-o to get on this bandwagon, The Big E seems like an And-O type of hockey player.

I'd offer him up to 1.5 for one year and see what he says. There has to be a way to fit him in here.

The guy looked great in toronto last year before getting hurt. Remember those early season games vs the Habs, he was killing us out there.

Jason Allison i say no too, he is just too slow, he is really a liability 5 on 5 because of this. He can't even generate much offense 5 on 5 and is terrible defence. Most of his points last year were on the PP in toronto.

I think i said it in another thread but Jason Allison makes Ribs look like Catriona Le May Doan.

I believe he might be the slowest player in the entire league, slower than Dagenais even.

I will probably be attacked for saying this, but I honestly think Ribs would be a great 3rd line center. Allison would be a good pick up as long as he isnt asking for more than 1.5 per.

Apparently Lindros is asking for 2 mil per plus bonuses and that is why the Laffs haven't signed him yet. And yes, we would have to trade Ribs if we signed Lindros and who is going to take him?

Personally, I would die a little if we signed either of these two turtles. Plus, what good is Lindros now? He threw how many body checks last year? We have enough soft players, we don't need another.

I would cringe if either JA or EL donned the sacred Saint Flanelle. They both done like dinner and EL would be bad for team chemistry to boot.

EXACTLY my point!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Gainey signs the guy to 1.9 million..who wants him now? Teams may have taken a chance at 1.2...but no way does anyone want the Portuguese mafia head for 2 mill of precious cap space. As many good moves as Gainey makes, there are more that just bewilder me
