There has been a lot of talk here about trades.I was just wondering if a player can just say no.I only ask because the tax situation that has been talked about regarding free agents holds good for a traded player.Surely anyone traded to Montreal would be facing a real terms pay cut- so can he just so thanks but no thanks or has the player no say at all?
A contract is binding by law, so if one side decides to not honor the contract, the other side is allowed to withhold. The bummer for the team who has the stubborn player is that they probably gave away something for nothing if the player does hold out for awhile.

That's why so many players have no-trade clauses put in their contracts.
