They are going through what we were when we had these ex-habs

NOT Guerin!! The last thing the Avs need is yet another aging player whose past his prime and can't contribute anymore. (Turgeon, Brisebois, Dowd, Theodore, etc.) Better option, Buy out Brisebois and Turgeon gaining $1.5 million. Take ThreeorFour to arbitration and try to knock down his bloated salary the full 15% to $4.5 mill gaining another $1 mill. That makes it about $4 mill or so to spend on a decent D-man, most of which are gone now. But Spacek is still there. Look to the prospect pool for help, Wolski, Richardson, Boychuk, etc.

Even better, Buy out Theodore and replace him with a bucket of luke warm water. That would be better than what he's capable of.

Someone asked if they should go after guerin, and everyone kept saying to buy out theodore, (his nick is threeorfour, LMAO.) or take him to arbitration (even though they can't) so they can afford better players. Their whole board is in disarray right now.

BTW ~ I'm watching Stevey Y retire while browsing through threads.... it is the saddest thing to watch. I lived in Windsor during his first two years as captain & was at their games often. It's not only sad 'cause it's the end of an era & he's the heart & soul of Detriot.... it's sad 'cause it's proving I'm getting OLD!!!! Dang it Yzerman!!!! LOL


He will be missed. I'm sure he'll be coaching the Wings soon enough.
