I thought we could sticky up a thread where only finalized signings could be posted and commented on. This should be a fun ride!

So when Montreal lands Arnott, Elias and Shanny, what will do with the rest of the team?

From Spectors site......

RDS.CA REPORTS THE MONTREAL CANADIENS HAVE RE-SIGNED DEFENCEMAN FRANCIS BOUILLON TO A THREE-YEAR CONTRACT ESTIMATED TO PAY HIM $1.875 MILLION PER SEASON.

More than I thought he would get but a good signing nonetheless in my opinion.

What happened to the two year that Bob wanted. Boullion and agent win this little battle despite Boullion not wanting to move on. He called Gainey's bluff by saying he would test the market.

Bruins commit $57.5 Mil over five years to sign Chara ($37.5 Mil) and Marc Savard ($20 Mil).  What's up with the tight fisted Bruins?

Also, Jovocop signs with Phoenix?  Who saw that coming?

The Leafs signed Kunbina, and Hal Gill.  Kubina 4 years, 20 million.  What a joke, 5 million for Pavel Kubina?  Makes me think we didnt over pay for Boulin.

According to TSN.ca, Bob is trying to work out a contract with P. Elias......   that to me sounds like Elias is ready to come to Montreal.

It sounds as if it's a negotiation & not an offer.

Some huge early signings, but major overpayments! I am glad some GMs are keeping their heads in this nonsense. 5mil for Kubina; 2.1 for Gill; even Chara at 7.5 and Jovo at 7.5 is kind of heavy. 4mil for Savard is ok, I guess, if you like a guy who is about as one-dimensional as they come. I guess it mean more financial flexibility to fleece those teams with no cap-space left in trades

Arnott, Elias, Shanny... get at least one of them, Bob!

I think we are seeing that the first few hours of signings are of guys who already know where they want to go, or they are waiting for the inital faxes to come through and whoever offered the most, wins. There is no way that there were any serious negotiations going on with most of the guys who have signed. Most of them were also overpaid. The people who sign from here on in will sign because of negotiations and I think this is where the real GMing takes place.
Also, I think we will see a lot of trades this Summer, as teams balance out their payroll.
I am just thankful that Arnott is still out there... he is #1 on my list.

:Couldn'tagree more. We need to get at least ONE of these guys! I can't see BG spending that much on one player. (ELIAS) ST. Louis was turned down by Arnott, 4yr. 16 mil. Get him BOB! Then get Shanny in here. The Habs, were on his short list. Which i believe was MTL / BOS. (summer home) We could get both for the price of elias. PP SHANNY/ARNOTT/KOVALEV. Would love it! Get on with it BG! Sigh Arnott ASAP! Shanny you can take a little more time as boston put up some big $$$$s today. 4-4.5 Mil for both. BRING THE CUP BACK BOB!!! and still have Abs to use as bait or keep him.

Elias is staying in Jersey.  He would have looked great as a Hab.  Oh well, I can hope for #2 on my wish list now.

Personally im happy i don't really like him he's slick and talented but i was never crazy about him. Reminds me too much of Kovalev, all the talent in the world but he doesn't always use it. (Or thats my way of staying postive on the matter)
