You know, I always miss the awards for some reason. Every year I plan to watch them and I somehow forget. But this is going to be the year I remember! I'm looking forward to seeing who wins a few of the trophies. One I'm curious about is the Calder. I think Ovechkin has it coming to him, but it'll be interesting to see if Crosby somehow wins it. I'm also wondering about the Jack Adams. I'd give it to Lindy Ruff personally because I think Peter Laviolette had more of a team to work with.

Glad I could help.
I've miss them often too, so this year I wrote the date in my daily agenda the moment I heard when they would be on. That way I wouldn't forget them again. I mentioned it to Ripple this afternoon & he had forgotten about them too... so I figured other's might have as well.
They sure didn't advertise it much. I saw it on NHL.com today I believe, and I saw one commercial while I was watching TV. But today is the first day I'm hearing of this.
Ron McLean made fun of Theo in his opening monolog. Could that be any funnier.
What did he say? I missed the start.
By the way, guess who I saw this afternoon, driving around in Halifax? None other than Sidney Crosby! I was at a stop sign at the end of a small street, and he turned in to the street, so I got a close up shot. I had heard he was home these days.
He had a suit on, and was alone in the car (a most average car; likely his father's, since his vehicle is most likely still in Pittsburgh). I wonder if he was leaving for the airport to wing it to Toronto? I assume he's there for the awards.

Yeah he's there... the joke about Theo had to do with Crosby scoring on him.
I can't remember the joke verbatim... but the jest was MacLean sarcastically saying how tough it must of been to figure out how to score on Theo.
On Theo .... what about Conan O'Brien's joke where both Theo and Hilton have the same thing in common .... they've both seen lots of rubber thrown there way.

No that was the direct meaning but the words he used were, "Wow, you can't undress Jose that easily"

ok... I told you I couldn't remember it verbatim... lol
BTW ~ Jest means..."anactivity characterized by good humor", "a humorous anecdote or remark intended to provoke laughter", "tell a joke", "speak humorously", "act in a funny or teasing way".
I think you thought I meant gist... which means "the main point"
& to comment on your post.... Crosby's not the only one....apparently Paris can too
